Let
me tell you a little about the rider. Eric Stephens started
riding at an early age. Learning on his mini-bike in the backyard
graduated into "turfing" the yard and terrorizing
the family dog. This eventually led to competitive dirt bike
racing as a teenager.
Attending
Penn State soon took precedence and the funds needed to start
a racing career. Eric graduated in 1989 from Penn State with
a degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing.
He currently is employed by Volkswagen/Audi as an Auction
Sales Operations Leader.
Finally
in 1993, the insane desire to travel over 150 miles per hour
was realized. Late that fall Eric prepared a 1991 Yamaha TZ250
to run in the F1 and F2 classes for the 1994 season. That
year, Eric became the WERA National Champion and Mid-Atlantic
Regional Champion in the F2 Novice Division.
In
1995, Eric purchased a 1994 Yamaha TZ250 and began competing
on a National Level in the WERA National Challenge Series,
as well as the AMA National Superbike Series. The 1995 season
was cut short due to a crash at Indianapolis in late July.
In 1998 Eric switched to a new Honda RS250R and eventually
retired at the end of 2001 with a 2000 Honda RS250R which
is now owned by Team Diablo.
Racing
is a lot of fun, a lot of work, a lot of money, a lot of time.
However you meet a lot of nice people racers and spectators
throughout the years and we want to thank everyone who has
attended a motorcycle roadracing event for their support.
